Volunteering with LULA Women’s Helpline involves offering compassionate, non-judgmental emotional support to women facing challenges like anxiety, loneliness, postpartum changes, and isolation, helping them feel heard, safe, and supported during difficult moments.

LULA Women's Helpline is a safe and inclusive space; we value diversity in background, experience, and perspective. Volunteer Requirements
We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds who are passionate about supporting women, willing to complete our training program, and committed to providing compassionate, respectful, and confidential support.

Be 18 years of age or older

Commit to completing 20 hours of virtual training focused on women’s mental health, emotional support practices, and confidentiality
-
Be able to commit to a minimum of 4 hours per week for at least 6 months
-
A student or recent graduate in Social Work, Psychology, Child and Youth Work, Women’s Studies, Counseling, Nursing, or a related field

A professional in a helping role looking to give back to the community in a meaningful way

Demonstrate strong listening skills, empathy, and discretion

Have reliable internet access and a quiet, private space (for remote shifts)

Agree to maintain confidentiality and adhere to LULA Women's Helpline code of conduct

An individual with lived experience who feels called to support others

A woman-identifying or allied volunteer who values trauma-informed, inclusive spaces
